SANDER AND SONS’ TfIUCALYPTI EXTRACT! , Under the distinguished patronage of his Majesty the Xing of Italy, at Rome, according to communication received from the Consul-General for Italy, at Melbourne, upon instructions •from the Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated I4th March, 1878. The Extract of the Eucalyptus Globulus, manufactured solely by Messrs Sander and Soiis, Sandhurst, recommends itself by the following deelara- ' tion and testimonials : Epitome of declaration made before Moritz Cohn, J.P., on the 17th October, 1877, at Sandhurst:—“ Three mediciil gentlemen had attended the sou of Mr Raabe, of Ironbark, for nine weeks, and declared that amputation of the leg injured by an axe was absolutely necessary. At this junction Mr Raabe called on Messrs Sander and Sons, procuring some of their Extract of the Eucalyptus Globulus, and by the application of the same he had the satisfaction of seeing his son within a fortnight out of all danger, and be has now quite recovered,” Sandhurst, 2nd October, 1577. I certify that I have used Mr Sander’s extract of the Eucalyptus Globulus in all affections of the throat, inflammation, bronchitis, rheumatic swellings, inflammation of the breast after confinement, , toothache, and diarrhoea, and can strongly recommend it in all cases as stated above. In November Mrs Reeves, from the Rifleman’s Aims, Back Creek, brought information of a cure of delirium caused by sunstroke, wliich took place in the family of Mr Ryan, butcher, of Back Greek. The wife of Mr Fickel suffered in the bend of the knee from a swelling which had formed a lump of consider•able size, disabling her from attending to any work. She removed the swelling completely by a continued application of the extract. The Donald Times, of Ist December, 1877, states Last week the eldest boy of Mr Morgan awoke in the night crying with earache. The extract was, •applied, and the little fellow was cured and asleep in ten minutes. Mr French, of Coorack station, sufferijed from bad earache aud pains in the head. Two drops of the extract were put in the ear and some rubbed round the ear, and the pain instantly disappeared. Mr Cioker, at Mount Jeffcott, was laid up nearly a fortnight with inflammation of the eyes, and was in great agony. The extract was used, and in a few •days the inflammation disappeared. Tte Evening Times has reported cures ef neuralgia, by the use of the extract, at Geelong. The extract, which is -of a brilliant yellow gold color, and need not be confounded with the turpentine-like preparation of, the gum that is to be found in the trade, has been applied, with marked beneficial effect, to severe sprains, all sorts of wounds, cuts, sealdings, and its chief property —namely, to check all inflammation—accounts for the cures referred- to. An equally important •quality of the extract is its efficacy as a disinfectant.
