LAST NIGHT’S MEETING.

[to the editor,] Sis It was proposed at the meeting re Teremakau bridge, held last evening, that a second amendment should be considered. Those present did not hear the words of the amendment, but lam confidentially informed that they were as nearly as possible in the following terms ;—“That in the opinion of this meeting, no public money should be expended, or public works executed, except in such a manner as to suit the interests of Richard John Seddon Esq., Mayor of Kumara, member of the County Council, chief magistrate of the town, leader of the community &c., &c., and that the residents of this district are now, as always, prepared to sacrifice their interests in favor of Richard John &c., &c.—lam, &c., Rory O’More. Kumara June, 15th 1878.
