[PRESS AGENUY. I . Oamaru, May 22. Young Maitland, who was injured in J the coach accident yesterday, died this morning. Me was"the son of Mr J. P. Maitlaiid, and was on'his wav to school at Cluistchuiv.h. The father and mother arriied heie just iu time to see their son die. Goddard, th* driver, has been insensible a'l day, hut hopes are entertained of his recovery. An inquest i-i now being held. At the inquest held to-day on the bodies of Nichols and Maitland, evidence was taken as to the cause of death. The inquest was then adjourned till the 6th of Juiu, as Goddard (ooncli-drivei) is not yet able to give evidence as to what ctused the accident. Goddard is slightly better tonight. Grahamstown, May 22. . Sir John Coode arrived in the Hinemoa this morning to make a survey of the harbor. The Thames Couuty Council has replied to the circular' of the Westland County Council re conference of Council representatives to the effect that the conference should assemble the sitting of Parli imeut in Wellington/The Thames Council suggest that two representatives be elected from each Council, the cost to be defrayed equally by the counties so represented. latestljnpublFshed. At the inquest held at Cave, near Tin-am, yesterday, on the body of James Campbell, who was killed by the team of horses he was driving trampling on him, a verdict of » accidental death " was returned. Murray, a schoolmaster, was charged with indecently assaulting his scholars. The case, which has created a great deal of interest in the neighbourhood, is adjourned.
