HOSPITAL COMMITTEE.
A meeting of the Hospital Committee was held last evening, at the Borough Council Chambers. Present: Messrs Todd, Arthur, Rogers, King, Barron, Birch, Everett, Garguillo, and Phillips. In the absence of the President, the chair was taken by the Vice-President, Mr Todd. A letter from the Secretary of the Hokitika Hospital was read and received.
It was resolved that the amount charged for patients treated in the Hokitika Hospital, £B2 12s be paid. The Secretary was instructed to inquire what arrangements for patients treated in the Westland Hospital was required, pending the building of the new one at Knmara.
Mr King reported that the Building Committee had uvt, and had instructed Mr Eisseohardt, of Groymonth, architect, to draw up a rough sketch of a building, to be submitted to (he Committee this evening, but that the drawing had not come to baud.
The Visiting Coimniti.ee, through Mr Biroli. impended having arranged with i)r Ivi.-RMU to ;uteud all patients at the Ward for one mouth, .for the Sum of Al b.
Tlie inclemency of the weather preventing flic canvassing of the district, the Finame- Coiiiiuitteo were unable to lay their report before the meeting. The Secretary stated ho had received the Government subsidy of .£i9d 11-?, for the quarter ending "March.
It was resolved that in future all accounts must, be forwarded to tSio Secretary monthly, and that no accounts paid by the Wardsman be acknowledged by tire Committee.
A compiainst made, hy Mrs Gaffney against the Wardsman was referred to tlie Visiting Committee.
l ; t was resolved that all cheques be signed by the Treasurer and Secretnvv.
The following amounts were banded iu f<<> lic.Ai.'is sold -Mi- Everett, £3; Mr iVUI, T,2 ; Mr King, £]. ; donation from Mr Phillips, 10s.
Accounts to, the aim mu t of .£ll2 10s 6d were passed for payment, ilic meeting then dispersed.
