HOSPITAL COMMITTEE.

A meeting of the Hospital Committee was held last evening, at the Borough Council Chambers. Present: Messrs Todd, Arthur, Rogers, King, Barron, Birch, Everett, Garguillo, and Phillips. In the absence of the President, the chair was taken by the Vice-President, Mr Todd. A letter from the Secretary of the Hokitika Hospital was read and received.

It was resolved that the amount charged for patients treated in the Hokitika Hospital, £B2 12s be paid. The Secretary was instructed to inquire what arrangements for patients treated in the Westland Hospital was required, pending the building of the new one at Knmara.

Mr King reported that the Building Committee had uvt, and had instructed Mr Eisseohardt, of Groymonth, architect, to draw up a rough sketch of a building, to be submitted to (he Committee this evening, but that the drawing had not come to baud.
