At the adjourned inquest on the j body’ of the boy Steele, additional evidence was given showing that Mrs Steele had been seen beating the boy cruelly. Shortly before he was was found in a wounded state sho was heard to threaten to knock his brains out with a poker. A verdict of manslaughter was returned against Mrs Steele. Wellington, April 27.
