GOLD READY RECKONER.
The standard price of gold in Kumara is £3 16s per ounce in the rough, and £3 17s if melted. The following tables will shew at a glance the value of any parcel, from a single grain up to 300 ozs.:— •
’ The- 'Warden may, if he think fit, grant a prospecting claim to the actual discoverer of new gold workings conjointly with persons who have assisted them in prospecting either with contributionsor otherwise, or with other persons who may be nominated by the actual discoverers, although the said persons may not have-been on the ground prior to the granting thereof. iiThe Warden may, upon the application of-any persons forming, a party of not, less .than four, grant protection for hoi more than three months for a prospecting area “ at a distance of not less than .two miles from any existing workings in alluvial ground, or in the quartz workings of not Jess than half a mile from any existing quartz wo»lgi^.:. ; in no case shall any such prospecting area be granted whihihf half 1 a' mile of ahy- other such promoting., area: Provided further that 1 hubhptotection shall only continue in force until gold is struck, in which case th&; discovery shall be reported, of‘until the. holders are required by the Warden to; mark a prospecting claim, in either of \jthich cases a prospecting qlaiimshan marked arid applied for as provided ih c ‘Peculation 11. and Vi, i(hd ■ .thevupop. cease as to majHider such : ptbtpecting area: fipll lawful' tfce 'liVattJett 1 to .fim.aq»ospectmg area.; PMided that at be ;c6h-j tinuously worked oy ■■dffleiM’ft&o- i&ehduring the entire period of occupancy.
