Melbourne, March 12. Mr Glover, Chairman of the European and Eastern Telegraph Extension Company, arrived last night, per Chiniborazo, to take part in the Telegraph Conference.
The difference, between the Legislative Council and the Assembly are iu a fair way of settlement. Sydney, March 12.
A case of supposed small-pox has broken out on the City of Sydney. It is not supposed to be variola. The steamer is not yet released. Brisbane, March 12.
The town of Cairns has been visited with a great cyclone. Eight buildings were totally destroyed, and others much injured. The place is in ruins, but no lives were lost.

A warrant for a month's expenditure under the 45 th section of the Constitution Act was duly perfected yesterday by the signature of the Audit-Commis-sioner and the Governor. Tt will not be acted ou until it is seen whether a compromise cannot be effected between the two Houses by Tuesday next. On Thursday Mr Jenner will move in the Council that a Conference be sought with the Assembly. The motion is likely to be carried, but the Council will, it is said, insist on the withdrawal of the items for the payment of members from the Appropriation Bill, as a preliminary to auy conference.
