THE MINISTERIAL VISIT.
The arrangements for the reception of Sir George Grey and party are now assuming definite form. Last night a numerously attended and most enthusiastic meeting was held at Dill man’s Town. Mr Everett occupied the chair, and Mr Seddon, the Mayor of Kumara, explained the steps that had been taken here to receive the distinguished visitors. A committee was formed to coopei'ate with the Kumara Committee, and to draw up a suitable address; and it was resolved that the miners observe the day as a holiday, and assemble in Knmara, to welcome Sir George Grey and his colleagues. At the meeting of the Kumara Committee, held yesterday, his Worship the Mayor in the chair, the arrangements for the reception and banquet were perfected, and a sub-committoe was appointed to co-operate with the marshal, Mr Muuyard, in arranging the order of procession. The day’s programme will be as nearly as possible as follows; Procession from the Tram Station, reading addresses at Triumphal Arch, visit to Dillmau’s Town, and dinner in the Public Hall in the evening. Tomorrow we will be in a position to give more explicit details for the guidances of the public on the occasion in question.
