ST. PATRICK’S SCHOOL ARTUNION.

[to. the editor.] Sir —Permit me through the columns of your paper to ask a question, in reference to a certain art-union purported to have been got up in aid of th«j funds of St. Patrick’s School, Kumara, and to have been drawn fpr on the 26th, 27th, 28th, and 29th December, 1877, at the Catholic Bazaar; the winning numbers to have been published in the Kumara Times, West Coast Times, and Grey River Argus of 3Jst - December, 1877. Now, Sir, as a conti’ibator and a lover of fair dealing, I and several otheis are anxious to know what has become of the large amount of publio money collected for this so-called ArtUnion. Some hundreds of these tickets have been sold,- not 1 only in. Kumara, but at Reefton and other places, and,as T ana informed, the several sums* received for them- have been aemitted to the gentleman whose signature, ii? attached to the tickets. No intimation °f the drawing has yet 'been given. Several young htdibs who were- at great pains to dispose of these tickets die suffering great annoyance through being questioned as to the matter.
