In compliance with paragraph 3 of the New Zealand Gazette, dated 13th December, 1877, the following are the Rules and Conditions to be observed in FIRING FOR THE DISTRICT PRIZES, For the Year ending 31st March, 1878The sum of £2B ss. has been granted by the Government to the Westland District, which has been divided as follows: RIFLE VOLUNTEERS. First Set.—£l3 15s; 200, 500, and 600 yards; seven shots at each distance. Ist Prize £5 0 0 2nd „ ...3 0 0 3rd „ 2 10 0 4th 2 0 0 sth 15 0 Second Set.—£9 ; 300, 400, and 500 yards; seven shots at each distance. All winners cf Government money excluded. Ist Prize £4 0 0 2nd „ 2 0 0 3rd „ 1 10 0 4th 10 0 sth „ ... 0 10 0 Wimbleton target, 1873. Competitors only allowed to fire in one set CADETS. Cadets.—£s 10s; 100, 150, and 200 yards; seven shots at each disThese prizes are open to all Volunteers in the District. The firing of the Greymonth Rangers and Greymonth Cadets will take place at Grey mouth on the 22nd and 23rd February.
