Mr Price 8.M., in hearing the sly-grow cases this morning ordered that the common informers, Graham and Cordial, be "kept apart while the Court was sitting. Cordial gave his evidence with much straightforwardness and firmness, but Graham looked thoroughly ashamed of himself. The was crowded ■throughout the day. ‘ The performance In aid of the funds of the Kumara Volunteer Fire Brigade will take place to-morrow evening, and in a cause so worthy of public support, as this has been shown on various oecassion to be, by the manner in which oar local firemen have mastered the fiery element in its infancy, and thereby prevented conflagrations of a far more serious nature, we trust that a bumper house will prove that their efforts have been recognised as well as appreciated by the citizens of this town. The full programme appears in our advertising columns, but to prevent any misapprehension on the part of the audience we are requested to state -that the Grand Tableau after the Farce, will be divided into three distinct scenes, the curtain being lowered between each, and as the whole effect would be marred by any movement, the spectators will materially assist in the success of this part of the performam e by keeping their seats until the National Anthem is played.
