OKUKU WATER RACE.
Meeting at Dillman'b Town.
A meeting was held last night at Peters' Hotel, Dillman'a Towhtoprotest against the Okuku Water Race Company bringing their ftuming across the track, as it would interfere with the subsequent making of a good road. Mr Foldi was called to the chair and Mr Thompson appointed to act as secretary. The following resolution, proposed by Mr Yortt and seconded by Mr Clark, was unanimously adopted:— " That in the opinion of this meeting it is desirable that a deputation should be appointed to see Mr Price as Warden, to protest against and try to prevent, the construction of the Okuku Waterrace fluming across the would prevent a good road being constructed." The following gentlemen were then elected to form the deputation:— Messrs. Connolly, Yortt, Thompson, Foldi, Clack, and Kelly.
