The Government party was victorious, a number of their opponents being killed. Foreign residents favor annexation to England. Bombay August 19, 1.40. Suliman Bey’s army is now north of the Balkans. Salonica is in a state of siege. Poti is deserted. Hobart Pasha is at Sinope. Circassian immigration to Turkey is increasing. August 20. The Russians, advanced guard are skirmishing in the vicinity of Rustchuk. A Turkish' official despatch says, a detachment from the garrison repulsed the Russians. A Turkish force has entered Dobrudschka and the Russians are advancing against them. A Russian official despatch admits that a Russian reconnaissance has been repulsed at Osman Ba3ar. Roodrish has carried the advanced Russian position at Batoum, London, August 19. The Queensland Mail was delivered on the 14th. The San Francisco on the 15th. Sailed—Chimborazo on the 13th, Durham to-day.
