HOSPITAL COMMITTEE.

A meeting of the Hospital Committee was held last night, at the Brian Boru. Present—Messrs. Dongan (chair), Gargnilo, {Stewart, Wright, Keenan, Bird, Hasaall, M‘Gregor, Anchor, and Riley,

■ The chairman announced that Mr Wylde had resigned.the secretaryship. The chairman read the specifications for fencing the Hospital reserve. They had been prepared by Mr Wylde. Applications for the office of secretary were read from Mr R. E. Green and Mr Win. Nicholson. The former ashed £1 10s per quarter, the latter £25 per annum. On the motion of Mr Ancher, seconded by Mr Wright, the tender of Mr Nicholson was accepted.

The following amounts, on account of tickets sold, were handed in,—Mr Dungan, £1; Mr McGregor, £3; Mr Hassall, £2; Mr Anchor, £2. The chairman handed in 6s, which had been received by the wardsman from a patient named Graoyv With regard to the tenders for fencing, It was resolved to leave them unopened until an examination of the Hospital reserve had been made.

The monthly report from the wardsman was read and received. It showed that from the Ist June to 6th August, two indoor and 12 out-dobr patients bad Ibeen treated. Accounts to the amount of £9 Hs 6Jd were passed for payment.

It was resolved that the wardsman should, from the present date, receive £8 a week and his board.

The consideration of correspondence from the Hokitika committee was postponed till n|at meeting. The committee then adjourned for a week.
