“Is there no hope 1 the sick man said ; The silent doctor shook his head.” “ While there is life there’s hope, he cried.” “ JSgroto, dum anima est, apes eat.” DR. L. L. SMITH, (The only legally qualified medical man advertising.) CONSULTS On all Affections of the Nervous System (no matter from what cause arising) On all broken-down constitutions. On all diseases arising from early indiscretions. On Gout. On Rheumatism. IN these colonies, those excesses which we have indulged in “ hot youth” tell upon us with fearful interest. Smith, an. the only legally qualified man advertising in the Colonies ? ” Have I not also prosecuted, at my own expense, these very quacks, and exposed the various nostrums they are selling,— such as Phosphodyne, Essence of Life, &c.—and had them analysed and founo them to consist of “ Burnt Sugar and flavouring matter,” and the certificates I have proved to be all forgeries. ,Itis, for. this reason that I slep out of the • ethics of the profession and advertise, to give those who require the services of my branch an opportunity of knowing they can consult a legally qualified min, and one, moreover, who has made this his especial study. Dr. L. L. Smith is the only legally qualified medical man advertising, and he has been in Melbourne twenty-foiu years in full practice on
