HOSPITAL COMMITTEE.

A meeting of the Hospital Ward Committee, was held last night at the Brian Bora Hotel, present: Messrs Dangan (chairman) Fraser, Eiley» McGregor, Blanket, and Hally. The following business was trana. ; acted. The Chairman reported that he had seen the Greymouth Hospital authorities as to the patients Jones and Classen. With regard to the first, Dr. Morice had informed him (Mr Dangan) that the patient had been admitted after a delay of only-three hours spent in the Hospital. He had been taken in on making himself responsible for his maintenance—this being rendered necessary in consequence of no reply having been made by Samara to the letter sent from Greymouth, some six weeks ago. The patient had sinoe left the Hospital, and when doing so ex. pressed his gratitude for the kind treat* ment he had received. As to Classen, the Chairman was informed that the patient had been recommended by Mr Cavenagh, but no document to 'show the fact could be produced. ’ It was resolved that the accounts sent from the Greymouth Hospital be paid, with the exception of the amount claimed for Classen. Mr Fraser handed in £4 on account of annual tickets.

Tradesmen's accounts to the amount of £ls 14s 10£d were passed for payment.

The committee then adjourned till Tuesday next, at 7 o’clock sharp.
