A special meeting of the Municipality Committee is Called for eight o’clock, to” morrow evening, at Hanna’s Hotel, Seddon-street.

The Adel phi Music Hall on Saturday night, attracted a crowded audience, undoubtedly the largest that has been in Kmuin. The Marionettes were of course the grand feature of the evening. The descriptive singing introductory to the Royal Marionettes was given by Mr A. F # Vivian who sang with great spirit, tho grand scana of “Wrecked and Saved” illustrated by the Marionatts This alone was and is well worth a visit. Mr T. Carrol must bo complimented on the very artistic manner in which he appeared in the characteristic dances ; his sailor’s hornpipe received well melted applause. Mr Stewart sang, with great effect, “ The Bellringer,'’ responding to an encore with tho “Guard- Ship.” We might mention that the qnartett by Messrs Vivian, Carroll, Driscoll, and Stewart would tell winh greater effect if it was sung later in the evening, thus giving the audience a bolter chance of enjoyin'g this item.On Saturday during the heavy rain, a female who was holding an umbrella before her as she was making her way along thei sireot, did not; notice that a dr»y was coming towards her. Before she was aware of it the horse had knock *d her down. She was much alarmed, but fortunately her injuries are of a alight nahtre. Mr Seddon has, among other motions on the notice paper of the County Council for this evening, tho following;— “ That the grants of £3OO each, voted to the Ross and Kumara Hospital Committees, be forwarded to the respective committees direct, and that the said committees be empowered to send delegates to the Central Committee.”—“That the Chairman take the necessary.steps to have a Cemetery Reserve declared for Kumara* and that a sum not exceeding £IOO be authorised to be spent on clearing tha same.”—“That the prayer of the petitioners, re refund of money paid ou licenses for the Special Licensing District of Knmara, he acceded to.” The estate of the late Edward Akhnrst, who was killed on the loth of March, in a claim on the Lead, has been placed under the charge of the Public TrusteeThe value of the estate is estimated at under £BOO. The business, transacted by the Board of Education, on Friday night : —Resolved, “That the Kumara Committee bo authorised to call for and accept tenders for the formation and completion of Fifth - street, from Tni-utreet to the South Town Belt, and the clearing, forming, and metalling of a four foot track from the corner of Fifth-street to tho eastern boundary of the Reserve, the track to run down to the centre of the two chain wide extension of the South Town Belt.”— Resolved, “That sections 523, 524, 525, 528, 536, 537, 538, and 539. (b, Third and Fourth-streets, to (ho North of . Seddon-atreat) he offered to the Church of England Committee as a Rc serve for Church of England purposes on

the usual conditions; the offer to be accepted or refused before the next meet” ing of the Kumara Committee.” A letter was read from the Presbyterian Church Committee, stating that they had purchased sections 578 to 580 (opposite the Wesleyan Church, in Third-street), and asking the Board to make them a reserve for church purposes.—Resolved, that the request be granted.
