[per press telegraph agency.] Auckland, June 16. The Zealandia arrived this morning with English and American mails. She left San Francisco 23rd ult.-—Califor-nia time, and omitted to call at Kandavau. Passengers for New Zealand— H. A. Duff, E. Graham, C. H. Lenauer, Oneill, Allen, Mrs Murdock and 9 in the Steerage, Bluff, June 16.; Melbourne news to the Bth inst haa arrived per Tatarua. It has been principally anticipated per Wakatipn. The Government policy is much the same as that of the last Berry Ministry -—retention of protective duties, and imposition of a land tax are the prominent features. There are to he changes in the constitution of the Council next session. The AttorneyGeneral will probably hold a seat in Parliament, The burglars at Goldstein, the jeweler s, have not yet been arrested. The property taken is valued at £I6OO. M'Meckun, Blackwood, and Co., are building two new boats on the Clyde j to steam to 18 knots. J The weather is very warm and mild. Five or six places of amusement are open, but none doing very well.
