The regular Monthly Inspection (Parade of the Kumara Contingent of the First Westland Rifles will be held at the Theatre, this evening. The' contractor for uniforms will be in attendance at the-same time to take the necessary measurements. All members are particularly requested to attend.

The tender of Mr Davis, Hokitika, for supplying uniforms to the Kumara Volunteer Rifles, has been twxieptod. There.were several other tenders received.

The Lioensing Commissioners of the Greenstone District have granted a liceese to D. Murpkj-, for u. new house on the Main-road, near the North Torem&kau rush, on the condition that the building is completed according to plan by the 30rh June.

Johnston," an affiliation case,'in which Mr Perkins had been retained for the defenoe. His Worship, Mr Price,' after hearing the evidence of the plaintiff, asked' her if she could, produce any corroborative testimony. She replied that she cnild; not,., whereupon' the case was dismissed without any of the witnesses for the defenoe being examined.

The Grey' UWcv Argus of to-day says : Mr Richard Reeves telegraphs to us nnder yesterday's date, from Ahanra :—" I have just arrived her 9 from Reefton by a fluke. Nearly the whole of the recently constructed road, from Junction to Devery's Terrace, is washed away. The road at this aide of the Big Grey is washed away. It will require nearly a mile of road to be cut before any wheel traffic can <'et to Reefton. Considerable damage has been done to the land adjacent' to the River Ahaura."
