Dunedin, April 19. The escort arrived to-day bringing down 6437 ounces of gold. M £ Laren and a lot of loafers, encouraged by paragraphs in the Guardian and Evening News, held a meeting this afternoon and intend presenting a petition to the Governor asking for employment.

Timaru, April 20. The barque Isabella Ridley came ashore yesterday. She crushed her lower timbers on the rocks, and she threatened to capsize at first j but now stands stiffly and the seas are not doing her much hai'ni. The crew landed safely. It was a beautiful calm day but with tremendous seas which were increasing during the night. The schooner Rose Anna has drifted into Caroline Bay and is now in great danger. The French barque Yvanne is laboring heavily. The schooners Annie Bow, Young Dick, and Onward, and the brig Mary Sing are riding well to anchor though much strained. Auckland, April 20. The Australia, with the Frisco Malls arrived this morning. She has made the quickest passage on record, in 22 days 9 hours. She left Frisco one day late and made the voyage three day’s under contract, time. She left Auskland February 15th, arriving at Frisco on March the Bth, at midnight, actual steaming 21 days 2 hours. She left FrLsco on March the 28th at midnight, actual swaming to Auckland, In 21 days 4 hours. She called at Honolulu and Kandvau, Passengers for New Zealand ; Messrs James Lorrington, Thomas Easton, Do Id, and the Original Georgia Minstrels.
