It is proposed to form the above Company for the purpose of purchasing all the promoters rights to the ‘‘ Okuku Water Race and Prospectors’ (Cashman’s) Race, Claim, Tools, etc. It is not intended at present to call up the whole of the Capital, arf the cost of the works now decided on will not exceed ,£7358 including the interest gwen to the promoters and the purchase of the race, etc. A sufficient margin will thus be left to meet any requirements that may in future arise for the extension of the Company’s operations, ■ The detail survey and estimates of the - Okukufßace have been carefully completed by E. J. Lord Esq., and he reports, that by the construction of two reservoirs, one in Bell’s Creek, and the other in the Okuku Creek, that a constant supply of at least fifteen Government heads of water can be depended on all the year round, which can be broughtin to the prospectors’ race below. the ■upper* ■ dam at a cost of L315819s 6d giving with the present supply of the prospectors’ race, a constant supply of twentyfive to thirty Government heads of water, throughout the year. The promoters have - purchased' all the rights held by the prospectors in connection with their Race, Dams, Claim, etc., at Kumara, and thus secured a most valuable property, and one that yields an Immediate return to the the present revenue of the race alone being eati- ' mated at an average of L 35 per week. The claim itself is of considerable value, and can either be worked by the Company or disposed of, as overtures have already been made to the promoters for the pur- . chase of it aka-satisfactory price. The Company wflF havaa great advantage in bringing in the Kumara gold-field, as, they are already, *■ supplying a, large number of claims with the Prospectors’ Race, which only require® ;; the additional' water supply that the Okuku Race will give to make it oqe of the best paying investments on the Coast. The Kumara gold-field is now so thoroughly and extensively developed, that for years to come the supply of water that wilhbe at the wmmaiyßof the Gpm- j [ pany must ensure a large revenue. ‘ - Applications for, shares will be received up to SATURDAY, the seventh of April, at 6 p.m. As there are only a limited number of shares to be applied for, early application is necessary, as priority of application will be considered allotting the shares. , ■ r Forms of application can be obtained at the Bank of New Zealand Kumara, or from the Provisional Directors —and from the Company’s Brokers, F.
