Lord Esq., and he reports, that by the construction of two reservoirs, one in Bell’s Creek, and the other in the Okuku Creek, that a constant supply of at least fifteen Government heads of water can be depended on all the year round, which can be broughtin to the prospectors’ race below. the ■upper* ■ dam at a cost of L315819s 6d giving with the present supply of the prospectors’ race, a constant supply of twentyfive to thirty Government heads of water, throughout the year. The promoters have - purchased' all the rights held by the prospectors in connection with their Race, Dams, Claim, etc., at Kumara, and thus secured a most valuable property, and one that yields an Immediate return to the the present revenue of the race alone being eati- ' mated at an average of L 35 per week. The claim itself is of considerable value, and can either be worked by the Company or disposed of, as overtures have already been made to the promoters for the pur- . chase of it aka-satisfactory price. The Company wflF havaa great advantage in bringing in the Kumara gold-field, as, they are already, *■ supplying a, large number of claims with the Prospectors’ Race, which only require® ;; the additional' water supply that the Okuku Race will give to make it oqe of the best paying investments on the Coast.
