Ilf the sports wera a success wbat of the basket social in tbe evening ? To our mind there were nearly as many present as were at the eporta. But a few of them did not look so wull as they did in the afternoon—one lady (thanks to a Kinohaku guide who said l)e knew the track) haw tg vash tbe dress she was wearing b<,*>rs ne could attend. If that man had only been close at hand. There were about 60 couples present and the whole of the assemblage had a lovely time. Mrs Gaudin, Mrs Crotty and Mr Woulds provided the music, Mr Noely belig M.C. During tbe evening Mr W. Smith sang. The competition for the baskets was very keen, a sum of All 15 s being realised. Miss Brown’s basket realised 21s, which was the top price paid.
