CM tMrlKtfe Ex-Goveraor Francis, of Missouri, speaks as follows of the local paper : “ Each year the local paper gives from £5OO to £lOOO in free advertising space to the community in which it is located. No olhor agency can or will do this. The editor, in proportion to his means does more for a town than any 10 men. He ought te be supported, not because yon like him personally, or admire his writing but because a local paper is the best nvsstment a local people caYi make. It may not be bri'liantly edited or overcrowded with thoughts, but financially it is more benefit to the community than the teacher or the paeauher, Understand me, I do not Dean morally or intellectually, but tiaanaially."
