Sir,—The •* Kioobaka Ratepayer ” of your Inst issue apparently does not take the elishtest intereat in tbe reports and doings of the Kawhia County Council, for if he did Im would iearu (Ist) That tbe site waa fixed, and thui four months ago; (2nd) That the site was to be on a road reserve between tbe Post Office and Mr Scott’s house. The diffioalty that then arose wss that the road through Mr Scott’s property had never been taken under the Public Works Act, but only surveyed, and even thia survey has been condemned aud will have to be rs-doue. The Chairman (Cr W. J. SUmm) not only urged ihis matter but early iu December made a special trip to Kawhia and Kinohaka with Inspector Burd and tbe Commiseioatr of Crown Linds to personally point out the necessity ot despatch. Mr S i.iw moved at last meeting that the ll >vernmont be written to expediting tbe taking of the sits. Moral. Mr Ratepayer: Read your Settler.*— Y *urs, civ., ANOTHER OF ’EM.
