AWAKINO COUNTY.

(TO THE fcDITOR.) Sib, —lo*your issue dated February 5 b I read a letter signed Edw&rd O. Stanley re a regulation proposed by Cr Shaw and earned at a meeting -at tbo Kawhia County Council. At the do-=e of his letter be states : ** I am qune sure they (the rates, which is reveuua) are not spent making roads for the Awakino settlers.” I feel certain Mr Stanley cannot be aware of tbe fam Kawhia County revenue bag been expended making roads in tbe Awakino C-uunty, which undoubtedly provee the necessity of Cr Shaw’s action in moving the resolution, and the ainoereity of bis pledge that he would move in the matter.—Years, etc-, F. C. DERECOURT.
