Awaroa.
(FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) The weather lately baeo mist unseasonable—heavy westerly gates, accompanied by bail storms and heavy rain. Such weather in November is not relished by anyone and tbe sooner we have a change tbe better it will be for all.
Some settlers have made a start with their shearing, but until the ws& ther takes up it is impossible to make much headway. Messrs Noonan Bros., Pearson and Ireland took 150 bead of cattle to Ohaupo last week and report a fair eale.
Men are still very scarce and there is plenty of work for good bushmen or roadmen till Christmas.
The Government work is proceeding satisfactorily qq the Kai mango and Kihi roads. The first named will bs through to the Awaroa Mahoe road before Christmas.
Crops, gardens, etc., are looking wejl, especially early potatoes, although the blight has made its appearance in some places.
