THE FARMERS' CO-OPERATIVE AUG lIONEERING CO/8 REPORT.
At Ngaruawahia last Wednesday we yarded 900 head of cattle and 1053 sheep. There was a large attendance and fa keen demand for all classes, bidding being very brisk from start to finish, every pen being sold at auction. 508 head of well-bred steera from 3A te 4-yr-oldß, were a .splendid lot, and sold readily ; fonyard condition 4-year bullocks, £7 5a to £8 10s; less condition cattle, £6 to L 6 10s; 223 bullocks from Thos. Wilson averaging L 7 2s; 3 and 2J-yr steers L 5 5s fo L 5 Ids ; and ’2 f-yr steers, L 4 4 s to L 4 18b ; 18-months steers, L 3 6s to 1.3 Ms; 12 and 13-montfis steer*,, L2 2s to L 8 15s ; calves, 24ii to 33s ; fat cows, L 5 9a to L 6 7s | fresh empty co we, Jj3.los to L 4 4e ; store oowe, Lt 16s to L 3 ; empty 2-yrar heifers, L2 10s; springing cows, L 4 17s 6d to L 6 , heifers, L?) Is 6d to L 4 2s 6d ■„ bulls, LS to L?; forward woolly wethers, 15a lid; close wool wethers, 15s 3d to Iss 8d ; ewes in wool, i 2s; fat ewes, Mil; ewes with iambs, IBs.
At Waihou last Friday we yarded 1258 head of cattle and 500 sheep. There was a large attendance and a good demand for all classes ; 109 beef penned sold readily ;. fat steers, L 7 12s fid to LB 125,; weighty cowa and heifers, LG 10b to L 8; lighter sorts, L5-to L 5 7a 6d ; 21 and 3-yr steers, L 4 Ga to L 5 9s ; 18 months and 2-yr steers, L 3 3a toLl ; 12 and 15-months steers, L2 3s to to L2 Ms; yearling heifers, 35s ; yearling Shorthorn bull, lOgns to 12|gns: Holsteins, 51gns to Ggns. A Ixrge number of dairy cows yarded elicited brisk bidding, cows, LG 5* to L 7 IGs ; heifers, L 6 to L 6 15a forward wethers, 16a to 17s 9d; fat ewes shorn Ils to 13s ; hoggets, 10a.
