Kintehero.

(from our own oorrespondbnt.) The weather has been lovely the last few weeks, and has started the grass growing rapidly, but is now equally again. The lambing season has commenced and is very good. So far the lambs are looking well. At a meeting held at i’Marokopa on the sih inst, it was decided to call a public meeting of settlers interested in the district lying south of the Marokopr river, to thoroughly discuss the advisability of joining the Kawhia County. The south boundary of the Kiritebere block is the proposes boundary instead of the Marokopa river, as’at present. If the proposition is carried this will add about 60,000 acres of land and 30 or 40 additional settlers to the Kawhia County. Messrs Burd and Forsyth were in the district and laid off a wharf at the Marokopa. As the wharf was laid off some distance up the river and in such a position that steamers can only get up to unload at spring tides it is causing some dissatisfaction, as it should have been lower down the'river near the schoolhouse, on the site where the steamere discharge cargo a.t present, so that the boats can get in, unload, and out the same tide. Furthermore, the settlers want tbeir goods discharged direct on to the wharf and into the goods shed. It is thought that the public and shipping should be considered, and notprivaiie individuals. The Pitoitoi was in the Marokopa River this week and went out without a load, although a quantity of sawn limber was ready for shipping. I was under the impression that the timber here was for sale and that a demand exists for timber at Waitara.

There will be quite a number of cattle leaving the district for the Waikato during this month.
