Mr Langley, Kawhia Agent of the Northern S.S. Co., wrote claiming 11b 3d, the value of a case of benzine consigned to Marokopa lost on the Kawhia Wharf. The Chairman could not a&e that there was any claim. Marokopa stuff' lay at Kawhia sometimes for weeks No storage was paid and be failed to see how the wharfinger could be held responsible. It wag decided not to recognise the claim. The Clerk asko'fl for power to enforce storage charges, which after dis» cussion, was granted. THE LOANS. A telegram wag read from the Treasury asking that further particulars be supplied re the Pirongia West loan. The Chairman said that he understood from Mr Newton, the former clerk, that already two lots of the papers bad been posted. A wire should be sent to that effect.

Or Jonathan ; I suppose the’re stuck away in some pigeon b le in Ibe office. It is n most unsatisfactory position. 0.- Bibbagu: In future e\ery'bing should bo registered. We wuul l then have them under the whip. Cr Jon ithan : We are simply be ng fooled. A telegram was read relative to the UGwbia loan to tbeeffeot that th i plin supplied did not t illy with the s isuial order. Cr Jonathan said that quite reemtly a plan of the area was ordered from the Survey Deparlmentr Auckland, to send to the Treasury, and a copy of the special order was sent as a guide. Tbo Olork explained that ho bad looked into the matter and could not make the sections tally. Liter on be found that the plan supplied was fiva years old, On the new map tie sections ware named diffarently, which ho thought was the explanation of the whole matter. The special order had been compiled from th j val nation roll, which had baen m*de up from an old plan.

Or Jonathati : The now map will be obsolete before w e got the loan through.

Theso delays simply mean that the Council looses half its value. Until the loan is expended the Town Board is practically useless. Summed up it is gruss departmental inc Hupotenco. Cr Bibbago : When a new plan is made out the roll should be revised. The Chairman suggested that the members for the district should be written to and also the Treasury, explaining the whole thing, and a.-kimz that the matter be ventilated in tie House. The loans he said, had been banging fire for over two ye-rs. Cr Jonathan : The delays are so flagrant that I fool justified in sayiug that they all are intentional. The suggestion of the chairman was put in the form of a motion and carried. In reply t) an enquiry as to the ’ wharf loan, the Clerk said that he was awaiting the gazetting of the special order. GENER/L, Authority was given to Cr Jonathan to repair the Kawhia Aotea road. A rate of l{d iu the £ was struck by motion.
