On Saturday afternoon last ab;ut 20 reeidentw assembled in Mr Ncwf'".On's office (Mr Hamilton presiding the fullowL resolution w»» carried:— Moved by Mr Langley, seconded by Mr Hamilton : “Th it a telegram be forwarded to the Hon. W. W. M’Cardle, M.L 0., and Meesre Jennings and Graenslade, M.P.’f, joining out:—(1) That it is to the knowledge of this meeting that Messrs Ward and Hunter have been unable to secure a suitable site for a butter factory adjacent to Kawbia wharf (without either paying an exorbitant price for a section, or putting the factory building on land to which a title cannot be registered.) (2) That to postpone the erection of a butter factory will be a great drawbaod to the district, and prove a serious loss to many who have arranged to milk and who have purchased dairycows and milking plant, in anticipation of starting this season. (8) That a very suitable rite bandy to the wharf is now lying vacant belonging to the Government, viz., the Reclamation Reserve adjoining the township, next to the Settlor office. (4) That as it is urgent to at once commence operations erecting a factory, otherwise a season will.be lost. Messrs M‘ Oar die, Jennings and Greenrhde be asked to approach the Government to get halfan acre of tbe Reclamation Reserve adjoining tbe Settler office declared a creamery and butter factory site and further, that the Government be urged to at once decide an the conditions and rent for such site.”—Carried. A telegram containing tbe above was forwarded and a reply has been received that tbe matter isj being attended to.
