, The question of tbe erection of a Cottage Hospital iu Kawhia is being freely discussed, and the ultimate one* ceee of tbe movement is hoped for. Tbe public have responded liberally to tbe solicitations of the energetic cauvaseers, Mesdamee Morgan and Newton, who report that £4O has been collected. The money is to be planed iu a trust account in tbe bank. Of course mors cash is req aired, and tbe ladies named would ba pleased if thoee people who have not been asked yea would tend their contributions alongIt is proposed to hold a aeries of daooee io aid of the foods, the first of which takes place to morrow (Saturday) night. Daring Thursday tbe following wire was despatched fo Sir Joseph, signed by Mesdames Morgan and Newton “Acting your advice in speech rtarw ted Cottage Hospital fund. Colleeted £25. This is proof that residents recognise necessity. Trust you not for get this matter.” On Saturday last tbe following reply was received from Sir Joseph . —“Very pleased hear fre m your telegram that practical steps have been taken in tbe direction of providing Cottage Hospital and I shall be glad to give tbe matter my fullest consideration.”
