An application was made by Messrs Hunter and Ward for a lease of about balf-an-acre of the vacant land for the purpose of Greeting & butter factory- The matter was referred to a committee of the whole Council, to meet on Thursday. RIDING ROADS. The Waitomo County Council wrote relative to the matter of the maintenance and control of roads between tbe two counties, viz., portions of the Kai manga, Hauturu ank coach road. * It was resolved to hand over the thirds received in respect ot sections fronting portions of the sa d roads to the Waitomo Council. RAILWAY MATTERS Cr M'Cardle was requested to act as a deputation from the Council to the local authorities at Te Kuiti to ask them to co-operate in urging on tha Prime Minister ths necessity of railway communication between Kawhia and the Main Trunk Line. MAROKOPA WaARF. Mr A. E. Langley waited on tha Council (as a representative of Hero kopa residents) asking that a grans b-t made towards the erec ion of a wharf at that place. The following motion wn c**ned : “That the Council recognises tbe desirability of including tbe Ma** kopa district as far as Tirua Point, in tbe
Kawhia County, and extending the Harbour Board jurisdiction to the Marokopa River.” whakapirau landing. The Council decided to extend £lO on a landing for Whakapirau district, at site to be decided on by the councillors and settlers of the Waibarakeke and Taharoa Riding. ACCOUNTS.
