(from a correspondent.) On the lOth (net. a meeting waa held at which a aub-branch of the Kinohaku Branch of the Farmers’ Union was formed. Mr Keirna, secretary of the Kinohaku Branch, attended by epecialJuTitation and in a few well chosen words explained some of the benefits the Union had done the struggling settler, An executive committee was elected, viz., Messrs W. D. Smith, J. Flamank, W. Mitehell, A. Fairfax (chairman) and R, Neeley (secretary and .treasurer)

Several matters of local interest were dealt with and a hearty vote of thanks to Mr Kearns for attending concluded tbe meeting The build.ng trade in the Village Settlement is very brisk. Well I am sure his many friends here will wish him every success and prosperity. The same people hive a contract on hand for timber for a house for Mr Biddock, and I hear that there is timber stacked in tho bay for houses for Mr J. Barrett and Mr 8. right, Tbe probability of a hutter factory seems to have awakened dreams of ‘ Cows and Clover” in the small settler's mind, so he thinks it is time he was on his section.

Such a mild autumn has given us am pie f ?ed through the winter. Is it Dot marvellous, here we are in the middle of June and only about two frosts ? Reminds one of the ,‘ Sunny ‘Sunny Land” sometimes read about
