Whakapirau Valley.
(FROM a OORRISPOHDENT.) On Saturday, the 80th May, a meeting was convened at.Mr F. Derecourt’s residence, a large number of settlers attending, the chief business being to consider the erection of a private telephone through the district, connecting the Kinohaku-Marokopa line at Kinohaku. After a lengthy discussion it was decided to leave the erection of the line till the end of next summer, settlers hoped that the roads would be in better order for cartiag the material whilst some hoped that they would have time then to erect the same. It was decided to ask the proprietors of tbe Kinohaku-Marokopa line to allow a connection to be made when this line was erected. A movement was made to establish a sub-branch of the Kinohaku Farmers Union in the valley and it was decided that a meeting be called to consider the same.
