COTTAGE HOSPITAL. (to ths editor.) The sad news received on Monday morning last in reference to the late Mr H. Campbell, surely emphasises the need of a local Cottage Hospital. Had such an institution been in the district, whilst it might not have prolonged his life, it would at least have made it possible for bis friends to have visited him in his last illness, and he would not have pasesd away entirely amongst strangers: they would have heard of his death before he was buried and so had an opportunity of honouring his memory by following bis remains to their last resting place. I believe County Council would be the host intereajs otfc-J onatituenlfl by liberally such an institu t|on y z rather than by contributing through the Charitable Aid Board to the Hamilton Hospital, which in our case is so un-get-at-able.—Yours, eta , C. E. DAVIDSON.
