CARBOLIO ACID IN BATHS: DANGER.

Recently a Chelsea butler was found sitting in a bath into which carbolic acid had been introduced, and the doctor who was called in told the coroner that death was due to syncope from carbolic acid poisoning, the acid having been absorbed through the skin. Carbolic acid is a dangerous drug to play with. A medical man draws attention to the fact that it can be absorbed through the skin without damaging it, and may then cause poisoning and even death, as in this ease. But it may only causa weakness, delirium, and collapse— not necessarily fatal. Generally the victims of such mishaps are little.—‘Science Siftings.’
