(fbom our own CORBXBPON dent.) Since my last letter, Messrs Templeman aud Saunders have brought stock in from tbe Waikato, the former 150 sheep and the latter 50 head of cattle. Owing to tbe rapid growth of grass sheep are scoured badly. * Pushfelling has started in this district; so far six contracts have been la*, namely, Messrs Whitcombe, 40 acrest Wouldes, 68 acres, Kinnane, 80 acres, Hally, 50 acres, Willison about 30 sores, Haylock, 150 acres. Tenders are called for falling 600 acres at Nukahaken for Mr Atkinson. There soosaa every reason to believe that thia will be a record year for bushfelliug. I understand that 1000 acres are to be felled on the Harihari run this year, and there is every likelihood of from 8000 to 4000 acres being felled within IQ miles of Marokopa heads. Grass seed sowing is about Completed, and taken altogether tbe eeed seems to have germinated very wall, except Me’?rs Rise Bros, who sowed rather early, and as a result had to re-sow some of the dry ridges again. The result of the Marokopa school election war as follows : Messrs Wouldes (chairman), Vicary (secretary and treasurer), Martin, Waamu and Tamaranga.

At a meeting held at Marokopa on the 27th inst it was decided that Mt R Secretary of tbe Settlers’ Associate >n. write to Minister for Public Works and ask that a steamer Hiding site be surveyed on the Marokopa river, and that a road be surveyed from landing to connect with the junction of the Marokopa and Waip&waroads, eo as to give access to landing. A; present there is no road to the landing, which is on native property. Efforts a-e also ta be mude to have a village site aur« vejcil at tbe Marokopa Xleadk
