THOSE STREET LAMPS,

(to th® editor.) Sir,-—“Lat there be light.” I have not seen much so far from the lamps erected by the Town Board. The nights ’are now dark and sometimes stormy, yet the lights do not shine. The posts look alright in daylight, bat the lamps— oh, dear! Mr Turrell re (erred to them at the last meeting of the Board (ride your report) as “good old country lamps” 1 but that is wrong, be must have meant “posts.” I would suggest quite seriously, that the lamps be taken off, and instead ordinary lanterns hung on the posts (candle lan kerns it it is thought wise,) for surely they would be of some use. At preeent I am disgusted with the •‘THREE LAMPS.”
