Oh Wednesday we held our anunal sh oep fair at Ngaruawahia. and yarded over 12,q00 sheep and lambs. Owners of sheep expected low prices, on account of the dry weather and other reasons, but in many cases received more than reserves. Competition was brisk throughout, every pen beingjquitted at the Hammer. Two-tooth ewes realised from I3s9d to 17s 6d ; 4.« and fresh full-mouth ewes, 13s 3d to 15s t»d; good full mouthed ewes, 9s 8d to 12s fid ; others, Ss to Hs 9d; fat and forward lambs, 8s 6d to Ils fid ; store lambs, 5s 3d to 7s fld ; cull lambs, 4s to 48 9d ; shorn lambs, 4s 6d to fis 3d ; forward conditioned 2 tooth wethers, 15s to 17s 10d; others, 13s fid to 14s 9d; fat ewes, Ils 6d to 13s; Lincoln rams, 2?<us ; Romney rams, jC3 3s to £4 4s ; Leicester rams, 2|gna to 3gns, Shropshire rams, Signs to £3 8s ; aged rams of all breeds, 10s 6d to 15s On Thursday at our Hamilton sale only a small muster of cattle and sheep came forward. Seventy fat cows and heifers eold really well. Heifers realised from 15s to jCS 7s od ; oowb, £4 10s to J} l ? 3s ; agedcows, £2 lOn to 3 12s 6d; fat ewes, 15s dairy cows at profit, £4 10s to £5 15» ; 3-yr old steers, £5 Ts. A large entry of pigs 8 'l'l nt satisfactory prices : store pigs 1.91 to £1 6s ;■ slips 14s to Ifisfid; weaners. 6i to 9»; poaitt, £3 lOato £3.
