On Saturday, 14th inst, w# had a fall yarding of cattle at Te Awamutu. Good competition ruled and everything was sold. 180 of this neavon’s calves made from 19s to £1 da : smaller aorta, 103 to 17a; yearling atoern, £2 8e to £3 12a; fat heifers and cows £4 17s 6d to £7 ; two year old ateere, £3 10a tu t £3 £3|l7s. A large entry of pigs all sold, very good slips 17e to £1 8; 6d, waaners, lie t > 14s Rd.
On Thursday, 12th inst, at Hamilton municipal yards we penned about 90 head of beefall selling except two pen*. Small beef made £7 6a to £7 15a; really good cows £7 la; lighter weights from £I 5v to £6 10a ; empty two year heifera £3 9s 6d ; 18 months to 2-yr steers, £3; dairy oowa at profit £7 ; well-bred’heifers £7. A line of ewes and lambs, £1 1s 6d ; lambs, 14s ; owes, 14a 6d. A full yarding of pigs sold well. <£>n Tuesday, W.-dnesday and Thursday, we held our annual horse fair at Hamilton in the new bazaar, and offered 430 odd draught and light horses and 115 unbroken colts. A numbar of rea’ly first olvas draughts from the main trunk line elicited good bidding up to within £5 to £lO of owners’ reserve’. However, of the sound young animals were soM privately. Sound young acti/o medium draughts were required, and also good harness horses and hacks. Anything cf this class sold readily. Heavy draught 5-yr-old mar. 4 and geldingv realised from £42 to £5O ; 7 to 10-yra, £32 to £4O; aotive medium draughts, £2< to £37 ; aged ci aughts, £lO to £ld ; upstanding hacks and bugTF horses, £lB to £25; sound young harness horses £l4 to £2l 10"; strong harness and riding cobs, €lO 10s to £L7 ; light hacks, jgfi 10s to £11; ponies, £2 10s to £1 ; unbroken strong harness cjits. £l5 to £2o,’ light o»lts, £7 10s to £10; weeds, £2 to £3 ss.
