PRESENTATION TO MR W. T. JENNINGS, M.P. (By Telhorafb.) (Special to tub Bbttl.br ) WAlTABA,‘Thursday. A large gathering of representative settlors of North Taranaki took place last night b re when a social was held in appreciation of services of W T. Jennings, M.P., for Egmont. Th»Mayor presided., and on behalf of lhe citiaene proaentetTtheir member with a gold watch and chain. Mr Ogle, exmayor, on behalf of the Maoris in the district prenented Mr Jeßnings with a pinpia, which formerly was in possessiin of the celebrated Timokowaru. The chief Hipango said the Maoris recognised how strongly the member bad fought for the district and had sent the piupiu with good wishes. M>-ssra Symes and Major, M’s.P. were present at function.
