Mr Ogle, exmayor, on behalf of the Maoris in the district prenented Mr Jeßnings with a pinpia, which formerly was in possessiin of the celebrated Timokowaru. The chief Hipango said the Maoris recognised how strongly the member bad fought for the district and had sent the piupiu with good wishes. M>-ssra Symes and Major, M’s.P. were present at function.
