Latest From Wellington.

(By Tedegbaph.) (Special to the Settles ) Wellington, Thursday. The Evening Post, which is strongly advocating the interests of back blocks settlers, publishes also a long letter from Mr H. H. Babbage, of Hanturn, setting forth that though the land in his district was taken up in April 1900, and the settilers were promised by the late Mr S iddon, who was present at the ballot, that they would have roads within two years, no road yet, audio order to get their stock to market have to drive them fifty miles. Practically they have no outlet for stock still inasmuch as the road is only passable for three months in the year. The Post declares that to leave our pioneers to rain their future, waste their lives and break their hearts in the mud is cruelty unworthy of any Christian country. The end of tbe session is at last in sight. Tbe Premier has announced that he hopes to wind up business by 20th inst. Among Bills to be proceed nd with is tbe Native Land Bill which has yet to be introduced. Tbe Noxious Weeds Bill is to stand over till next session. The Public Works Statement is to be delivered on Friday evening and debated on Monday.
