Counties. SETTLEMENT OF THE COUNTY, Attention was drawn*by the chairman to the tardy completion of leases from natives, and the desirability of having all lands settled and rate producing as soon as possible. The Government system of purchasing Native lands was discussed, and it was stated that several instances bad occurred in which settlers, desirous of leasing Native blocks, had gone to considerable expense in negotiating far the land, and when the transactions were nearly completed, the Government Land Purchase Officer had stepped in and sc quired one persons interest in the block, and had thus prevented the lease from being completed. Besides causing a considerable loss of time and money to the intending lessees, this action prevented the settlement of large areas of land. Moreover, in one instance at least, it was stated that Native owners after being prevented in this manner from dealing privately with their land, bad approached the Government Officer with a view to selling their interests, had been told to wait. The desire was evidently for the Government to acquire small interests in many different blocks in order to prevent them being leased privately. Apparently they wished to obtain a hold on as much land as possible and bide their own time tp purchase the blocks. The injustice to the district was pointed out, and it was decided to make strong representations to the Premier with a view to securing the quicker settlement of the unused lands —On the motion of Cr Ormsby, seconded by Cr M‘oardle it was resolved that the Minister for Linds be again urged to have all Government lands, already surveyed injthe County, thrown open for settlement as soon as possible. WAITOMO THIRDS. Or M‘oardlt) proposed, and Cr Ormsby seconded that the “thirds,” accruing in (the Waitomo Riding, be scheduled for expenditure, the work to be carried out under the County Eo gineer. —lt was decided to have the necessary details prepared and that the engineer should be empowered to employ a foreman for the woik. COUNCILLOR RESIGNS. Or A. M'Cardle tendered his resignation, in conscquencs of having re moved from the district, and the resignation was accepted with regret.— Abridged from Te Kuiti Chronicle.
BILIOUSNESS BANISHED. Bile Beans Prove a Blessing. That horrible aensation of diaxineao, and that disagreeable weakening sensation of sickness and fainting are sure indications of disorganised bile flow, and invariably mean biliousness. If tne liver is in a healthy condition, the bile flows freely, thus promoting assimilatidn. When the liver becomes sluggish in its action, the stomach and organs of digestion are overworked. Food is not digested and carried through the system as Nature intended. It accumulates, causing flatulence, sickness and often vomiting, or, in other words, Biliousness. Mrs. M. A. Wendelken, of 165 Axeldean Road, Christchurch, says:— “Up to three years ago I was a constant sufferer from Biliousness, although during that time I tried many so-called cures for the complaint, but only to discard them as useless, as they utterly failed to give roe relief. Bile Beans haring been recommended I gave them a trial, and thus gained the only relief I had known for years. As a corrective medicine Bile Beans are, without doubt, superior ta all other medicines I have used, being as effective with the children as with adults. For this reason Bile Beans have been installed as our family medicine and I could wish for none better.” »
Bile Beans are a proved cure for Biliousness. Headache. Indigestion, Stomach Troubles, Constipation. Piles, Debility, Female Weaknesses. "Nervousness, Bad Blood. Bad Breath, Anremia, Disturbed Sleep. Loss or Appetite, and in fact, all ailments that owe their origin to defective bile flow, assimilation or digestion. Obtainable generally throughout New Zealand.
