N.Z. LOAN & MERCANTILE AGENCY CO.’S REPORT. On Monday, 24th September we held our etook sale and annual hogget fair at Ohaupo. The sheep attracted a large attendance of buyers from all parts of the district. AU classes of store cattle sold well. Fresh three-yr-old steen brought from £5 15a to £7 ; nine months to yearling ateers, £2 5s to £2 12e ; mixed yearlings £1 4a to £1 198; beet heifers and sewa, £2 SB*6d to 4a ; cows near profit £5 5a to £6, although dairy stock was rather dull. The sheep elicted keep competition and all sold at high prices. 1200 woolly hoggets, 18s 9d to 20e Sd, for beat stores; others, 16s 9d to 17e 6d; full mouthed ewee, with lambs at side, £1 4s 3d the coaple; full mouthed store lines, 14s lOd. At Ngaruwahia on Friday, 27th, we yarded about 400 head of cattle, and although the weather was very rough, competition was brisk for all classes. Yearling steen made from £2 4e 6d to £2 15s; mixed yearlings, £1 18s to £2 7e 6d. Others in low condition,|£l 8s to £1 14s; fresh conditioned cows and heifers, £3 to £4 7a 6d ; fat cows, £6 10s, Dairy’oowa and springing heifers elicted keen competition. Dairy cows sold at from £4 15s to £6; good heifers, £4 5s to £5 7s fid.
