Sir, —TLvte exists a class of people in this district who ure utterly useless to the place and what they say to strangers coming hero has a direct tendency to send intending settlers aWay by the next boat. Tbi-i informa tion is from nn experienced farmer, who catne here to start in his profession. On arrival at Kawbia he was informed that Kawbia and its surroundings were no good. He knew better and took the trouble o find out all about Kawbia’s enemy with the result that he had a good look over a countryman’s farm and learned all there was to from his friend to bis intense satisfaction. Now Kawhiaites who want successful farmers to come here and slowly but surely make thia howling waste a garden of Eden should do their utmost to eliminate the parasites in their midst as incalculable barm is thereby done.—Yours, etc., VISITOR.
