On Tueaday, July 30sb, we held <,ur Obaupi sale and yarded 500 atore cattle aud 156 dairy cows and heifers. Brisk bidding ruled throughout, everything bei g quitted. 6u fresh steers off turnips, £5 12s to £6 10s; 2e-year-old steers, £3 15s to £1 12s 6d ; 18months steers £2 14s to £3 ; choice yearling steer and calves, £2 to £2 5a : yearlings (mixed>, £ I 14s to £1 19s; strong caves (mixed), £1 7b 6d to £1 Ils fid ; fresh cows, £3 to £3 Ils J ‘’tore cows, £1 17s6d to £2 ; empty 2-year heifers, £1 Iss to £2 7s fid • rough steers, £3 5s to £3 10s ; fat heifers, £4 158 to £5 10a; heifers in calf, £2 Iss to £3 10s; good cows made £6 5s to £7 10s ; others, £5 to £5 12a 6d; good heifers, near profit, £1 15s to £5 10s; cows and heifers at store prices.
On Thursday, August 9th, we held oar Hamilton sale, the advertised nu nber of cattle being penned. Fxt catcle were inclined to be dull of sale, but were all sold at the hammer or afterwards. Fat stee b sold at from £7 15s to -£s !0s; lighter weights, £6 15s to £7 7s 6d; fat cows and heifers, £4 10s to £5 12s 6d. All classes of stores were required and sold at slightly harder prices Yearling steers, £2 to £5 3s 6d ; calves, to £L 9s; smaller soi 3,14 b 6d to 16a; 18 mouths to 3-year-old steers, £2 Ds to £3 10s; empty cows and heifera £2 to £2 12s ; good dairy cows, near profit £6 10s to £9; heifers £1 to L-5 5s 200 sheep elicited keen competition and all sold. Fat wethers, Ll ss; Fat ewes and wethers, Ll 2s; Fat hoggets, 17s to 19b. Slips, 18s to Ll 3s; wesners, Ils 6d to 14s. On Friday at Cambridge we hid a good sale. 58 prime steers gold at from LS os to L 8 128 6d; lighter weights, L 6 15s to L 7 10s; good cows and heifers, Li 10s to L 5 Ils; fat sheep, Ll 6s i»d ; 2 J to ir steers, J. 4 10s to L 5 ss; 2-year do., L2 to L 3 7s 6d ; 12-months do-, L2 to L2 4s : c lives, Ll 9s to Ll 3s; pigs:|store Ll 2s to Li ss; slips, 19s; weaners. 10s to 12s 63.
