OPARAU ROADS.
(TO THE KDITOR.) Sib,— Fire away “ Oparau Settlers ” and “ Okupata,” your ammunition ie very defective and falls a long way abort. That ahot made of drain pipes which “ 0.5.” fired off, abows|that ho knows nothing of what he was writing, but the one “ A,0,5.” fired off, made of aua-glazed drain pipes, must have been an invention of his own, and through his Ignorance and lack of common sense the shot has made a laughing stock of “ A. 0.5." Now for “ Okupata.’’ His shots, mudo of fads, ore a long way worse than the ones madfrom drain pipes One settler, perhaps “ O ” himself, was explaining to au - other settler where ths road should have been made, and wh m he got It to the top of the hill hie friend asked him how he w«n going to get the road to the flit below, and he replied that he had not thought of that I Who would listen to these men P it is a good thing for the country that the Government appointed experienced meu with sme minds to survey and lay off the roads. For those who wish to wash dirty linen and air it through the paper, a mee ing cf Oparau ratepayers (advertised later on) will be convened, and I shsll invite the local reporter along. ’ If they are brave enough they o&n fire off their defective ammunition then. I think very little of theii nom-do-plume blunderbusses, wh’ch are of very poor oalibre, and the impertinauce of the obsolete guns and defective ammunition asking me to surrender.
