At the Pirongia Axemens’ Carnival on Wednesday, the Maiden Chop was won by Mr D. Coe, junr., of Te Rau-a-moa, and tbe 20in. and 18in. Standing Chops by Mr Osborne, of the same place. Messrs Tynan Bros, and Goddard, of Kinohaku, brought in 250 sheep from tbe Waikato on Tuesday, which were put on the pontoons at Oparau. Mr Mason is also bn the road with 75 3-year-old steers.
