West TamaKi, 7th April, hjoo Messrs Shabland 3c Co., Ltd , Auckland, Dear Sirs, — I have pleasure iu reporting on the use of your POTATO BUG HT KXTERMINATOK. 1 used the preparation practically in accordance with the directions on the package, ' first of all steeping the potatoes in the liquid for 24 hours on the lines suggested in 1 directions—afterwards placing ill the sun to thoroughly dry, prior to planting. I planted in the ordinary way with the addition of a Iftlsle lime i n the drill—about scwt. to the aero. When the shoots showed about 2i to 3in. above the ground, I gave them a complete spraying in accordance with your directions. When they were about 12 inches high I sprayed again, or when any indication of the blight showed upon the stalks. The whole of my crop has turned out perfectly sound and satisfactory, although many of my neighbours who have not used this preparation have lost the whole of their crops; but those who used your preparation according to the proper directions, have saved their crops i with good results. I am satisfied that this preparation is an I exterminator of the blight, and at the same i time it inoreases thejyield of the potatoes to 1 a considerable extent. It is noticeable es- ; pecially in regard to the improved flavour j of the potatoes. Previous to this prepara- I tion having been brought before my notice > I had used the Bordeaux Mixture, out the results were very unsatisfactory. I have also used your POTATO BLIGHT EXTERMINATOR for blight iu cauliflower, cabbage and turnips and have had splendid re BUItF, Yours faithfully, (Signed) J. PILKINGTON. Mr John Pilkington is a largo grower of pototoen and well known throughout New Zealand as an authority on potato growing and other branches of farming,
