Big Things on Little Farms.
Ab an insttiace of “ big things on little farms,” particulars have been furnished to tbe ’’Sydney Daily Telegraph” of returns from the farm iu the Shoalhaven district of New South Wales, occupied by Mr.Thomae Diley. Mr Daley’s farm is 151 acres in area, and is subdivided into 21 paddocks. He keeps in milk a herd of 45 Shorthorn cows. Subjoined are the figures submitted for the nine mouths January to October, of last year:—
Completing tho year, Mr. Daley anticipated that hia milk cheque for the laat quarter would reach £130; that be would anil pigs to the value of auothor £2O and fat cows to the value of £l2. This will bring the year’s returns up to £968, which, it may be allowed, is a sufficiently handsome return from that acreage: Up to September Mr Daley employed no labour other than that of his own family.—“ Morning Press.”
